Say hi! Say how you found _____, and if there was someone you both know who thought you would be compatible. Share a little about yourself. Include an appropriate photo like a headshot. If you need one, we can help. Then share something about yourself. Give the person you're reaching out to some time to respond, and if you don't hear anything in a few weeks. Feel free to message one more time. If you don't hear anything after that, way to reach out and be brave. Perhaps the person is busy, or talking with someone else, or not interested. Be cool and kind.

You might not naturally be cool, but you can be kind. You can also be calm and collected when reaching out to people. Think about nice things to say. Think about how you would want to be treated, and also how they would want to be treated. If you want to take it to the next level, how would Jesus love and treat this person? If you start there, it will go a long way to making someone feel safe to respond.
